Here’s a quick and easy craft for an afternoon of flying fun. This parachute man can be made from materials you have around the house.Kids will have fun putting this craft together and then can play with it inside or outside!
Materials: 1 Handi Wipe (or some other lightweight material) 4 Small Brads (optional – can just tie if don’t have these) 4 Pieces of Yarn 1 Parachute Man (can be any small toy) Instructions: 1.Cut the material into a large rectangular shape (about 11” x 15”) 2.Cut 4 pieces of yarn (about 11” to 13”) 3.If you have brads, use them to attach the yarn to the material by pushing the brad through the material and wrapping the yarn around the straight ends of the brads. Then hold the yarn in place and push the brad ends in opposite directions, flush with the material. 4.If you don’t have brads, just tie the yarn tightly to each corner of the material. 5.Tie the other ends of the yarn to your flying man (toy). Now it takes some experimenting. You and your child will need to do some test runs to see if the yarn is too long, or the flying man is too heavy. If the parachute is dropping too quickly, you need to find a lighter flying man (toy). If the yarn is getting tangled, you may need to shorten the length.Figuring out the right combination is all part of the FUN!
